A message
from Frank
Mintken,
Owner of
UYR...

UYR ( a division
of CMC) is a company that
I created in January of 1995, as an extension of
my 24 years of writing experience.
I have
written thousands of job winning resumes. I have written
marketing copy for Direct Response Mailings, for
Mortgage Wholesale and Retail Sales, Computer
Manufacturers, Industrial Manufacturing Companies,
Insurance Companies, Human Resource Departments and
Software Companies.
I have also written Mortgage and
Insurance Underwriting Manuals, Software Specifications and
of course the "dreaded" S.O.P.
manuals.
The rest of the time I managed my own
companies. How old am I you ask? Let's
just say I'm EXPERIENCED!
Am I tooting my own horn? Well you might
say that, but the point I'm really making is that
most
resume writers have only
written resumes.
Most don't have the "real
life" experiences that would allow them to
relate to what your prospective Hiring Manager may be
looking
for.
As an Employer, I have hired
several hundred people over my lifetime. Many of
their resumes scared the beejeezus out of me.
They were not well organized; they were poorly written and
almost without exception, they were telling me what they wanted
from me. Believe
me, that's a
turnoff!
Now, I'm not saying that you aren't
well organized, can't write a sentence or that you
let your ego speak for you,
but we (and this is a partnership)
have to extol your virtues in a way that shows your
value to a prospective
employer.
It can't be too wordy,
and the judicious use of Performance Metrics and
Industry Key Words beats the Chicago Manual of Style
day in and day
out!
Trust me....I won't say beejeezus
in your Resume or Cover letter, but I will tell you
that if you don't show utility; if you don't
develop and push your
Brand / Unique Value
Proposition
in the
first 1/3 of your first page, your Resume is
headed for the trash! The whole process
takes seven to ten
seconds.
Why is an attention getter so important?
Picture me, on a Friday afternoon...the sun is out...I have
to schedule interviews by Monday, and I have 75 resumes to
go through...my golf buddies are waiting...boy these first
20 resumes are so neat...they all look the same....they
don't seem to say anything....hmmm....get the
picture?
When you order your Resume from
UYR, we will call you. We will learn about you.
Yes, we want information about your former and current
employer(s), but we are more interested in
how:
-
You saved them
money.
-
Made them
money.
-
Made them
bigger.
-
Made them better, and most
important,
-
How you have grown by going
through the process.
Try our service. We will work hard for
you. Guaranteed!
Good Hunting
